Colour Doppler
Colour Doppler Test is a non-invasive test that can be used to estimate the blood flow through blood vessels. It helps doctors evaluate blood flow through major arteries and veins such as those of the arms, legs and neck. It can show blocked or reduced flow of blood through narrowed areas in the major arteries of the neck that could cause a stroke.
It detects and interrogated large scale of region and blood flow, typically blue and red. It can also detected whether the blood moving toward or way from the transducer. It has estimated frequency shift at each point at which motion is detected within an interrogated region, thus yielding information on direction of motion and velocity.

Color Doppler is a technique in which colors superimposed on an image of a blood vessel indicate the speed and direction of blood flow in the vessel. Color Droppler can be used to:
- Detect blood clots and blocked or narrowed blood vessels in almost any part of the body, especially in the neck, arms, and legs.
- Evaluate abnormal veins causing varicose veins or other problems.
- Find out the amount of blood flow to a transplanted kidney or liver.
- Monitor the flow of blood following blood vessel surgery.
- Provides a visual overview of flow within the vessel or heart
- Rapid identification of vessels, valves, turbulent flow
- Assess flow direction and velocity
- Quantify volume and percent vascularity
- Identify area of stenosis or thrombosis
- Find small vessels such as mouse coronary arteries, femoral and accurate arteries
- Evaluate blood flow after a stroke or other conditions causing impaired blood flow
- Monitor blood flow to major organs such as heart, kidney, liver pancreas
